Therapy for Children, Adults, Families, and Couples in New Port Richey Florida
Susan Reed-Imes, LCSW
My Philosophy
True healing begins in a forum that feels safe enough for us to open-up. Trust and rapport are critical components in establishing that safe setting. After that is established, the power lies within each of us to share, process and define what health, happiness and success means to each of us. Together, with that end in mind, we will use cognitive behavioral therapy, trauma sensitivity, family systems exploration and humanistic empowerment, to identify what and how to get you living your definition of success. I enjoy working with children, youth and families and strongly advocate for family involvement to promote full success.
My Background
I grew up in southern Wisconsin. After 27 years of shoveling snowflakes, I moved to the great Sunshine state in 1998. I always knew I wanted to work with people, to help them realize their strengths, to advocate, to support the underdog and help people find peace and happiness. So, after earning my masters degree in Social Work from University of Wisconsin-Madison, I worked for child protective services, the juvenile justice system and provided in-home family therapy for several years before transferring to the Pasco County School District 20 years ago. Working at Lifespan will allow me to use my clinical skills, while continuing to support the same populations with the goal of helping at an even deeper level.
Clients
I’m open to seeing clients of all ages. Together, with a mutual commitment, all individuals, genders and family dynamics are welcome. I am most experienced with teenagers and dynamics impacting parent/child relationships. I would love to empower anyone to help heal their wounds and/or reach their highest potential.
